I've had the hull of my 28' Hinterhoeller HR28 (external lead keel) soda blasted and I've spot-sanded where necessary, then washed thoroughly. Now some questions.
1. I have some areas where the lead keel mates with fiberglass where prior fairing compound has chunked away. After I chip away to get to solid compound, is thickened epoxy the suggested material for re-fairing?
2. I next plan 3 coats of rolled-on epoxy as a barrier coat (the hull has no blisters but some gelcoat pitting). Should this epoxy be rolled over the exposed lead keel too, or just to the gelcoated undersides and faired areas?
Thanks Hank

Here's a photo of the previously-applied keel-hull fairing. It seems reasonably intact, but will need some additional fairing before the barrier coat. The photo is upside-down, I don't know how that happened.
