Adding hardware on Triton deck

Post by Osprey »

I need to add 2 pad eyes on the forward deck of a Pearson Triton. My question: is all of the deck cored or is there a solid area around the outsides where holes can be drilled through to mount hardware without having to over drill and fill with epoxy? Thank you! Its safe to bet that most of the deck is cored. Later Pearsons had no core near the deck/hull connection but not early ones.

Just focus on where you want the padeyes to be. Then drill. If there's core, do the usual core isolation process. Don't let the core location determine the padeye location...

You don't mention what the pad eyes are for, or how important the location might be, but even if location is not critical but some location is more desirable then..............
