I'm looking at replacing the forward hatch on my Ariel. I was wondering (WRT Lewmar ocean series hatches) whether one should purchase the flat style vs one with a flange. I understand the physical difference based on the drawings on the website but wonder what would work best on a small coastal cruiser.
