how thick should a fiberglass tank be?

hey guys, i've got another question...how thick should a fiberglass tank be in order to store a certin amount of liquid? is there a formula for strength/stress tolerances?how many layers of roving fiber? or chopped etc...is it all gut feel and approximation?
