Plans for a Pigstick

Post by Triton 53 »

I would like to make a pigstick and I have a couple of ideas on how I might do one but I would like to see how other people have made them.
I am also thinking of adding another halyard to the very top side of the mast, on the other side of the bracket for the light, for the pigstick.

3' x 1/2" dowel.

Stick the bottom end through a tennis ball.

One small eyescrew in the bottom, another about halfway up.

Spraypaint white.

Secure burgee with zipties.

Thanks Mike,

Would I want to put the lower halyard line on the bottom of the dowel to help keep it straight upright?

What's the tennis ball for?

Yes, attach the tail of the halyard to the eye in the bottom end of the stick.

The tennis ball keeps things quiet. Any soft hollow ball will do.
