Torque value with tef-gel

Post by Ryan »

Does anyone know what value to derate a fastener's recommended torque when using tef-gel? I replaced some rusty keel nuts (5/8-11) with stainless steel nuts that are supposed to be torqued to 83 ft/lbs. I have used tef-gel to prevent galling with the stainless studs, but I'm not sure how tight to make the nuts now that they have a lubricant on them. I've contacted the manufacturer, but haven't gotten anywhere yet.
