Tim,

What is the cover that is below and slightly aft of the starboard locker hatch? I guessing it is a manual bilge pump access.

I bet this obvious to everyone but me.

looks exactly like the cover for my manual pump so I'd say that's what it is.

Geez, Joe, did you have to choose that photo, besplattered as it is? hehe (My boat doesn't normally look like that...gross!)

Yes, that's what it is. My pump is a Henderson MK IV.

I have a Whale Gusher 10 that came with the boat. It was mounted under the cockpit seat on what is now the locker skin. Access was through those delightfull locker cutouts. I am trying to decide on where this pump might go. Also, I can't seem to find a cover that is specifically design for the handle opening in any of my catalogs (though I haven't looked that hard yet).

JHenson- I recently bought a cover just for the Gusher 10 from my marine wholesaler. I have the catalog at my shop but I can get you part number, etc tomorrow.

I'm installing mine in the cockpit locker almost exactly like Tim shows his. Simple installation.

For what it's worth, I have yet to ever use that manual pump in 5 seasons. I wouldn't be without it, of course. What minimal water ever ends up in my bilge is handled by the electric pump.

I chose the Henderson mainly because it is the same pump used in the Lavac head system. Between the bilge pump, head pump, and waste tank pump, I have three of these identical pumps on board, which provides built-in spares if required. I do like these pumps, though, and now consider them my default choice for any manual pumping needs.
