As a special bonus to all of you, from time to time I'll post some preview information for the upcoming week's Sunday Daysailor log update, just to keep things interesting.
Sunday afternoon, May 4, I pulled the greasy Atomic 4 out of the bowels of the Daysailor, depositing it on deck for the time being. (Later, I'll lower it to the ground and whisk it away.)
It came out easily with about a half dozen Sawz-all blades (chintzy ones that broke easily) and an hour's time.
I also removed the jacketed exhaust system, all in one piece.
More details to follow in this week's log! Tune on on Sunday.

Even a horribly weakened (by rotten core) coachroof has no trouble supporting the hoist rig and the sub-400 # weight of the A4. Since the decks on this boat are expendible, I screwed through the companionway opening into the base blocks to hold them in place. This meant that I could easily pull the engine aft from the vertical orientation of the hoist to get the engine into the cockpit.
