I am hoping to buy sails from an overseas factory since this is what my local sailmakers are doing anyways… However I would like a good recommendation for who is the best overseas sailmaker that I should order from. Your answer is greatly appreciated thank you.

I just ordered a new mainsail for my Alberg 30 from Lee Sails in Hong Kong. I have never ordered a sail from them before but they were recommended to me by James Baldwin from Cruising Yacht Services in Brunswick, GA. He has vast experience in all matters pertaining to cruising sailboats. I live in the U.S but had to go through their canadian agent, Bob Dyer. Overall, the ordering process was hassle free. You do want to make sure to double check all measurements and be specific on all aspects of the sail.
Take care,

An overseas loft just builds a sail to the design provided - meaning if you order from your local 'loft' that uses overseas to make the sail it is to the local's design. If you like how your local designs sails use the local as if you use an overseas you have no idea how they design a sail and even know what works well for a specific boat.

Using a local also means you get local support if there is a problem with the sail.
