Cheoylee Offshore 31 varnish project

I just finished 6 coats of Epithanes on the exterior teak on my Cheoylee. I have approximately $200.00 in materials, and over 40 hours labor. And the good part is.....I get to do it twice a year from now on! At least it will only be 1 coat every few months for a while.

I'm about ready to tackle the inside, which is a total project also.

Looks awesome! Marinas need boats like yours with lots of varnished trim to contrast with boats like mine with only stainless on deck.

My slip is right on the main walkway to all the docks. Everyone walks by on the way to their boat. For the past 3 weeks, I hear, "looking good!" every few minutes. Others want to stop and talk about the merits of varnish or cetol. Some ask questions, like- "do you really need to sand between coats?", or" how many coats do you need?" or, " do you know anyone who could do the varnish on my boat?"

My time working on the boat is very limited, so I have to continue working while trying to talk
to people. So, if you want to varnish your boat in peace, maybe it would be wise to move it to the end of the dock.

Someone finally took a picture of Clarity while sailing. It's really hard to get a good picture of your own boat!

The outside is almost finished. The inside will be a winter project.
