I picked up a 9ft Dyer Dhow this past weekend. It needs a little work, but was at a good price. The boat came with the the sailing rig and some too short oars. I have epoxied a crack in the middle seat and filled the enlarged bolt holes on the seat. I hope to do some work on the rails this weekend.

I got a free dyer dow 7-11 a few years ago, it ended up being my big winter project last winter. It needed new gunwales and a lot of work. Gave me a chance to try out Epiphanes 2-part paint. The free dingy ended up only costing me about $600.

Best of luck with it. Also, remember that Dyer (Anchor) is still in business in Rhode Island so you can get all the parts there no matter how old the boat is. New steam bent gunwales made to order made my project one winter rather than three.

Cheers
Dennis

I have a Dhow as well. Not only are they fun to sail, but they tow remarkably well. I've towed mine is 30 kt winds and accompanying seas with no problem.

They're great little boats and the folks at The Anchorage are very helpful

She will look great behind the Challenger. Get her going and lets go dinghy sailing!

After I looked at your Thistle I ended up getting the Dyer 12.5.

Fun boat!! You will love yours!!
