One way to reduce through hulls is to build a sea chest--basically a box, integral with the hull, with one large outlet (overboard) and multiple inlets from wherever. Typically, these add complexity in the form of extra hose runs, but they do have the true advantage of avoiding multiple hull penetrations.

Combine thru hulls

Post by Al »

I've got 11 thru-hulls on my new to me Bristol, six of them for deck and cockpit drains. Being realistic, there's no way that I'm going to close 11 seacocks every time I use the boat. I was thinking of combining the six deck and cockpit drains into two thru hulls that exit above the water line on the counter. Any thoughts?
