My vote for the Internet's second best forum goes to WoodNet.

http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

Woodworking, turning, machinery, and other wood related topics.

:-)

It was a sunny day at the boatyard and I got sunburned, dehydrated and was too excited to stop for lunch - thus hungry. Not the best of times to go through the new forum posts.

Work is overrated.

Most everything you read on the Internet is wrong.

While not technically a discussion board... this place blew my socks off:

http://cruisingresources.com/

A lot of info, electronic copies of magazine articles and cross linking with various vendors for parts and products.

Another discussion board:

The fiberglass boat repair and building section has some very interesting people. I've enjoyed reading through and learning the hows and whys behind some of frozen snots great mysteries. They also do a bang up job of sail aerodynamics discussions... plenty of fighting, disagreeing and citing of paper sources to prove points. (That last one I like!)
