Rigging question

Post by Triton 53 »

I am getting ready to replace some of my rigging, the jumpers have some frays, but I don't know what this is on the forstay. Is it a patch or is something to do with the roller for the jib?

That looks like the backstay, not the forestay.

Perhaps it's some sort of ancient insulator? Whatever it is, I don't love it.

I stand corrected, it is the backstay.

I found out that it was an insulator for a SSB radio.
Add 1 backstay to my to-do list!
