I have only found one reference to Dyform rigging wire on the forum.
Has anyone used this product to replace their standing rigging?
I'm not planning on replacing the Vega rigging yet, but would like to carry a length of wire and a couple ofQuick Attach swageless fittings so that, in case of a wire failure, I can make an immediate repair ... as long as the mast is still standing!
As an aside, here is a little beauty I saw at Port Townsend a few days ago ... a Cornish Crabber 24 ( a BIG 24' boat !!)

Hi Peter,
I re-rigged the Wavelength 24 I have for PHRF racing with a combination of 4mm and 5mm Dyform wire. The boat was orininally done with 5/32 1X19 stainless. The reason I did it was the Dyform allowed me to double the rigging tension on the boat. It has worked out great.
Two things to make sure of if you use Dyform.
1. It requires special swaging equipment and a diamond dust coating on the ends to be swaged.
2. It can be a bit fo a pain to do the initial rig tuning because the stuff twists and untwists depending on the tension it is under. ( Make sure that every turnbuckle other than the one you are working on is pinned )
Overall, I like it alot.

Dyform is great stuff for the right application.
Pros: about 15% stronger than 316 1x19
stretch approaches rod rigging, considerably better than 1x19
lasts a LOT longer than 1x19, especially in tropics. I know of a couple skiffs in SE Asia that replace the dyform stays every 6 years, but the the wire every 3.
Cons:
Don't swage large sizes, small sizes require clean fittings and diamond dust
Is typically about twice the cost of 1x19
I like it a lot for small racing boats, but would question the need for it on a heavy displacement cruising boat. Sure, it means you may be able to downsize rigging, but then it won't fit your mast and deck terminations. And if you stay the same size, is the stretch reduction worth anything to you? The only reason I would consider for your application is the longer life that the denser flatter strands give you. And in that case I would probably think that you'd be better off getting two sets of standing rigging for the cost of dyform.
