January Sailing

Post by s/v Groovy »

The fog broke this Saturday, so I took a break from projects to get some sun on the sails, 39deg, 10kts, good times…

It turns out that bronze isn't the only thing that can develop a green patina (implying that I'm jealous, for absolute clarity)! Good for you!

It might be chilly in the Winter but I really do feel lucky we can sail year round here. It's still foggy today, so I guess it's back to sewing new interior cushions...

The coldest I have EVER been was crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuga in July. Pea soup fog, 20 knots of wind, my face numb and my teeth chattering..damn it was great sailing!

That's awesome!

We are lucky to have very mild weather around here, but this winter was particularly crappy, so I took every chance to go out sailing.
Often solo, 'cause I don't really like people whining about how cold it is...

On this particular day I had to reef and even went aground on a narrow stretch of water but everything turned out ok :o)

By the way, I really miss Seattle!!

Cheers,

Tiago

Audi Murphy said that whiners are tolerated so long as they pull their load. The lazy whiners get a boot in the butt.

Nice pics, thanks.

Dave.
Never finish all your projects or you'll be bored.
