October sailing is on in Maine.

Post by Tom Young »

And I always get the feeling when I'm in it, October rivals any month for being on the water. If you pick your weather, you can sail warm days with plenty of wind.Image

We didn't need to go far. I chose to anchor way inside Cabot Cove and of course we had it to ourselves.

The nights are cool but if you know how to dress like my friend Jack here, cocktails in the cockpit are the way to enjoy the sunset. Image

Once the sun drops over the horizon, a source of heat like this old Simpson Lawrence fireplace make cooking and enjoying a hearty dinner with friends below, a real joy on Christmas.Image

Mornings are just as dramatic. There's something about the light in October on the coast of Maine that paints a richer picture. Image[/img]

Ok, so when do we all get our invites?

Those are some nice pics. The best part about sailing in October is that there's no one else around! And those cool, crisp breezes. Yum!
