A little background. The station does a "lunch show" every day based upon a different theme, which is relevent locally (the station is out of Atlanta). The boat names show was because of the Atlanta Boat Show.

Midway through the program they have a "cheese" segment, which as the name implies is a cheesy song which relates to the daily topic, usually from the 70s or 80s. Today it was the theme song from the "Love Boat."

They finished out the set with:
"Elegantly Wasted" INXS
"Desire" U2 and
"It's Good to be King" Tom Petty

Thankfully, they skipped everything by Mr. Buffet.

Just thought the group would appreciate the topic.

There is a tale that the Island People tell
Don't know if it is true, but I love it so well...

Hey at topic I can relate to! When she's launched my Islander 32 will be "Sun Treader" which it so happens is named for a Carl Ruggles symphony. The symphony refers to a line in a Robert Browning poem (the Sun Treader is Percy Shelley in the poem, who drowned while sailing.)

Now that I think about it, having checked the Documentation on the boat (and the tacky vinyl letters now liberated from the transom) the boat was previously named "Wild Thing," another tune reference.

Fig,

That is not only the boat name, it is their lifestyle.
