Nice! Doesn't seem like that long ago that you were mulling over options for building a work-shed, and getting that boat up your driveway :)

Actually it's the finish.. .guy on the bow was there to call when we crossed the line so we could take our time, in case the race committee missed it.LazyGuy wrote:Port tack start? Gutsy.

Re: September's POINTS EAST
First thing I noticed was the pristine clean bottom. There is something very wrong with me.
The orange band on the mast is an interesting idea. There's no traveling in stealth for you.
Who's the wus wearing their hood on the rail? ;)

It is said that admitting the problem is the first step towards recovery.Figment wrote: There is something very wrong with me.

I have a wife who wipes my bottom for me before all the big races ;-)Figment wrote:First thing I noticed was the pristine clean bottom.
I stole the idea from cruisers Evans Starzinger, Steve Daschew, and Jon Eisberg. It's actually a retro-reflective hi-viz fluorescent tape. It certainly has been effective at attracting attention, but the hope was that it would make it easier for ships to see us at sea. In any case, it does make it easy to pick our boat out in a crowded mooring field.Figment wrote:The orange band on the mast is an interesting idea. There's no traveling in stealth for you.
That would be Eric. Don't you like his white boots?Figment wrote:Who's the wus wearing their hood on the rail? ;)

Re: September's POINTS EAST
I used reflective tape high on my mast spelling PM so we could find in the salt pond after a few Frozen Mud Slides at the Oar. Works like a champ.
Cheers
