A friend has a nice big white oak (live) that 's free for the taking. Eastern PA. Any interest?

I wish....

Getting it cut up and shipped to Florida would make it pretty expensive though.

My suggestion would be to let a local wood boat builder know about the white oak - I am sure they would be very happy to relieve your friend of it. I just paid a visit to Gannon & Benjamin Marine Railway...and talked to a number of wood boat owners - white oak is a favorite.

Well, because of liability issues my friend is going to have it taken down properly, milled and then will store it in his shed. If you need White Oak, I know where to get it.
