PC software for trip planning

Talk about favorite or hated suppliers, recommend good materials or sources, or anything of the same ilk. This is also a good place to suggest unique ideas and innovations you may have come up with.

Not sure if this is an appropriate place for posting this but check out the Coastal Explorer software from Rose point Navigation.

It uses FREE raster and Vector charts which you can download from the NOAA. I use the free trial occassionally (if I used it regularly I would buy it) for mapping routes on the PC, validating my bearings between points and noting distances etc. I also use it to make up point to point routes which I print and file for reference.
