Diesel-safe gasket material

I need to replace the gasket on my fuel tank's inspection port. What is the appropriate sheet-material to gasket with that is diesel safe?

Tottle off to your local automotive store. Cheaper. Big sheets available. Gasket sealers/cements available. They'll know what to sell you.

I believe it is viton. Nitrile might work too.
