Triton Osprey Refit Part 7 - Youtube

Post by svMira »

James,

I really appreciated your latest Youtube video. It was nice to see the steps of getting the interior to look all freshly painted. And, that's quite the piece of teak in the companionway. Must be nice to have access to lumber like that.

How are you attaching the seahood to the deck? I want to make one for my wanderer, but wondering how to attach it. I'd rather not have any fasteners showing outside and still want it removable.

The seahood has very little lifting or sheer load on it and even that is spread along a large surface area so it only requires 4 or 6 screws from below with cup washers under the heads. If worried about the strength you can use a more aggressive sealant/adhesive under the edges but I've found any sealant will do the job and generally use Multicaulk. I'll show all this in a future video of final assembly after paint.
