Another classic boat ID

I ran into a familiar looking boat in the local marina. I knew the type but forgot what it was called. It's going to drive me crazy until I know. It had a fin keel, skeg hung rudder, with an interesting prop shaft arrangement. The shaft extended from the aft of the keel and was an integral part of the hull. The rudder was hung far aft. It had a high raised dog house, and was rather stoutly proportioned. It was probably 27 or 28 feet long. The keel was long and shallow. It was very distinctive and I know I've seen one before but I can't for the life of my remember the type. I'll try and do a sketch and post it tomorrow.
