Northern 37

I am looking at a Northern 37 ketch. It is Canadian made in Ajax Ontario.
My web searches are amazing non-helpful. Does anyone have info on either the boat, or an informative resource?

Hi Dan,

Welcome to the board :-)

I don't know anything about the Northern myself, but I did find a contact for the Northern 37 on the Good Old Boat magazine website (www.goodoldboat.com), in their "Owners' Groups" section. Here is the info:

Northern 37 Ketch
Chris and Joan Cavanaugh
244 Cathcart St
London, ON N6C 3N2
Canada
Email Address: two_can@sympatico.ca

Let us know what you find - and as always, photos are most welcome :-)

I sailed a similar 40' boat that I thought was a "north-star" but on looking at yachtworld, believe its the same boat.

The boat I know had a 4' draft long keel. The mizzen had been removed and the boom extended. She sailed like a dog down-wind (via cuba to key west with a good following breeze) and couldnt point very well. The ford lehman worked well !
What I really didnt like was the "squeaking" of the hull flexing.
Spoke to another owner of full ketch rig and he spoke well of the boat.

just my 2c worth...
