Ericson

Post by Ryan »

Does anyone here have any experience, good or bad, on Ericson boats? I am looking at a couple late 60s/early 70s Ericson 35s. I am still working on my current restoration, but I am looking toward the future and I really like the looks of the older Ericson 35.

Ericsons were generally pretty well made with no serious issues.

The early boats like the 35 were designed by Bruce King, and they have a loyal following.

Is the early E35 that was based on the ALberg 35 hull. Internet lore says that they were disposing of the mold for the A35 and someone grabbed it and started making ericsons off of it. Ericson even got in trouble with columbia on the first design of the cabin windows.

I completely forgot about the Alberg Ericson 35 from the 1960s. If that's the boat that tickles your fancy, then so much the better!

The "newer" 35, which I described above, is still commonly seen around and about.
