PS25 hull ID numbers........

Post by martin »

I asked this on the Q/A section as well. Where are the hull ID numbers found on a 1978 PS25? I've looked all the places I can think of and can find no numbers. I also need the engine serial numbes and cannot find them either. All this so the state can stick some ugly numbers on my pretty boat.............martin

You can also apply to the state for a "hull number" to replace a missing or nonexistent one. Some states are sticklers for hul numbers that match the current convention, whether your boat ever had one or not. I had to do this myself, since my boat was built far before the HIN requirements existed. Of course, I have since lost the fake "hull number", so it didn't do me any good anyway.

I forget exactly when the current HIN requirements were initiated--sometime in the 70s. I don't have time to look it up now.
