Bridges Point 24

Post by Tim »

We've mentioned the Bridges Point 24, designed by Joel White, a number of times here and there throughout this forum.

I went by this one today in Falmouth. It's a little bit different than most, and it might be built of wood rather than fiberglass. Whatever the case, the custom bright cabin trunk sure adds a nice touch to this beautiful hull.

Note also the pleasant cream color on the mast. I like that--very classic.

I still like the "shelter cabin" (my term) version the best; fewer were made this way, but it's the general concept I intend to use for the Daysailor deck. Basically, the forward part of the cockpit coaming--which wraps around the forward end of the cockpit--is simply covered over with a nicely crowned coachroof. Pictures of this version are few and far between online, but there are some nice shots of one of these in the big Joel White designs book that you can drool over at your local bookseller. (I have it, and just finished reading it.)
