Collinite's insulator wax is the wax for aging gelcoat...

Buff it down with whatever system you prefer, 3m, mothers, mequires... and wax is with collinites... it's a pain in the rump to put on and buff off, but the results last for a while.

Any RV/travel trailer shop will have rolls of butyl laying around in grey.

Napa and auto parts stores carry black, in varying diameter round lengths for bedding in automotive windows. Takes some wax paper and a rolling pin to make the flat stuff though. Grin.

If you are watching the cost the light weight filler I use is... 3m glass bubbles. I find it sands similar enough to the glass around it with 80 grit, that its not a big deal. 407 and 410 ticked me off a bit, as you can long board a surface and have to take 3 passes with filler before its flat enoug...

Personally I wouldn't seperate the hull from the deck to pull the liner, just cut it up in place if you want it gone. As far as raw carnage and speed... The fastest way with a sawzall is to get some sheetrock cutting blades. They are 3 tooth per inch... Porter Cable makes them. 12478's They cut fast...

I use hot glue in a similar way to David... Though I rip 2 inch wide stuff of door skins or 1/8th inch ply... then use the fingers to go out and touch the hull. I keep mulling over this style... I love the look of a squared off hull joint, sharp crisp shear line. Bulwarks that don't puddle water...

But, what happens when you drop a wrench on deck... And you lose the ability to use the deck as a water collector. (Foot funk and all)

As far as the pan goes... make sure there is a break or lip before things roll right out on your cabin sole.
