The tracks are in the correct stock position. The sail for the forward tracks is an overlapping sail, but just barely at 107% on the L.P. The jib is cut 28' on the luff 25.5' on the leech and 10.4' on the foot. When sheeted in hard the clew of the sail will be just about between the cap and rear shr...

I have no idea what the circumstances were in concern to this accident, however, in my schooling to become a licensed captain, we learned that rule number one is to avoid collision at all times regardless of who is the stand on vessel. Given the limited information, and by the looks of the picture, ...

Sounds like a West Coast Triton to me. Britton, when I had 346 trucked out to San Franscisco I was even more Triton obsessed than I am now. I honestly can say with some degree of confidence that the Aeromarine built Tritons were not built with wood combings. While I was in the Bay area I was able to...

I relocated my batteries where the stock ice box was (now removed) as Igloo does a much better job and I move the cooler where I need to. Britton - Yes I have purchased and installed the fresh water cooling kit from Moyer Marine which I have also installed in the ice box location. Even though on bot...

I literally just installed the small VernaLift water lift on the sole in front of the engine, under the companionway ladder step. It is a good fit there. I have seen on some Tritons where this space is used for batteries but I have moved the batteries to another location. Now the fuel water separater...

Tritons are very weight sensitive. A little extra weight will have a considerable impact on how the boat floats. The CCA designed boats with narrow, pushed in bilges have a small displacement foot print when at idle. It does not take much weight to push the boat deeper into the water. With the basic...

engine now in the boat
Last Sunday morning at 5:30 the tide, wind and sea conditions allowed for me to bring the boat along side the stone peir head and lower the engine into the boat and onto it's bed. I did not run into any issues to speak of though there was a ton of prep that allowed for that. Anyway - I am very glad ...

Well allrighty then. Sounds like you have a plan. The squeaking never really got to me - lots of boats squeak underfoot. I understand your position on this. Sounds like a lot of work. After four years of working my own Triton - with no end in sight and less time now than ever - I am very gun shy abo...

Zach, The cockpit sole on 466 and that on 346 were not cored. My deck is solid glass that has several lateral stringers that span the width of the deck on the underside. I do not know what you are dealing with on your end, but the radius corners are also solid glass layup. Have you already cut the s...

Zach,
Thanks brother. I hope your own project is going well. I often check your blog to keep up with progress. My own blog needs updating and I need to get you guys some pictures but what the hell - only so much time in the day. http://triton466.blogspot.com/ More engine work tonight.

Thanks Pete. Last night I was able to truck the A-4 from Norwalk to Old Greenwich where I have the boat on a mooring. FIRST SAIL ON JOLLYBOAT #466
Sunday August 3rd. After four years of "part timing it" on JOLLYBOAT - I was finally able to go for a sail. JOLLYBOAT is still gutted out below to the extent where the gally, icebox and head are removed as well as the trim short of the companionway ladder. This summer has been spent instal...

I agree with Tim, recreational boats in general should just be made illeagal. That way we could all just stand on the beach and look at the water. We could become the Triton Beach Club. Of course building sand castles would also be illeagal due to its possibly damaging the beach. Until the new anti-...

Allen, The sail looks great! I am sure you will like having full battens and will come to appreciate the build aspects that went into this sail. Fun and interesting but . . .
Well these thoughts and ideas are interesting and understandable. Having owned a Triton for sometime I will agree that it does not take long to realize the Triton's strengths and weaknesses. When I sold 346 I knew the day that I accepted the check and handed over the keys that I would again own anot...

Not bad David
David - without seeing more than what you have posted your work looks good. If you find yourself trying this again try using the gymnasium floor to assemble the panels. Another method is to use folding tables as a work station to assemble the panels. Blocking the tables up helps to save your back as...
