Filling/repairing holes in hull below the water line
I have recently removed a transducer and a through-hull fitting which were located in the forward section of hull just as the keel starts it's down angle. I do not intend to re-use these holes for tranducers or the like and intend on filling them. I planned on using west system mixed with micro fibe...

I know for a fact that the strong track is less expensive than the Harken system. It is also lighter and less difficult to install than many (read that most) track systems. It is also one of the best systems in regard to bending and unbending the sail from the spars. There are no jointed or moving p...

Figment - you may consult an etiquette book on this matter as it maybe inappropiate for you to attend such an event on account of your gender or possibly your relationship to the bride to be. (it puts a hex on the couple to be if you attend) Another point of interest is that a case of beer will get ...

Tim, Thank looks like a lot of work, I am sure once you start on it you will get it done. My father and brother are in business together and own the Middlebank which is a party fishing boat, Maine built Cranberry Island 50, mahog over oak. For for the last three weeks I have been helping on the boat...

Tim, I again agree with your comments on staying within the manufactures guidlines and product use - as how can I not. The stove alcohol comment that I made a few threads up was made in reference to cleaning the hull after it has been sanded and washed down. I aways scrub down the surfaces with soap...

HULL FLEXING
I found this thread on Larry Suiters Guest Book on the San Fransico Triton Web site. I do not know the issue of hull flexing in a Triton has ever been an issue for any other Triton owners but I thought it would be a reasonable issue to discuss. Here is the copied thread. Referred By: Just Surfed On ...

Figment - the surface cleaner that Awl-Grip sells wrapped in their lable is pretty much stove alcohol so if money is an issue stove alcohol is about four times less cash. Never heard/read the bit on using a certain type of wiping cloth material - I have always used white cotton rags - not my old clo...

Hi again Ken - Sound like you and I are in the same boat in many repects with our Tritons. I am also planning on/started the Awl-Grip process on the topsides this Spring. I have used Awl-Grip many times on previous jobs with great success including my previouse Triton at least five 'Grip jobs. Your ...

New Sail Cloth of Interest
There are currently two new laminate cloth types available on market which would be a perfect match for Tritons and her kin. Contender Sail Cloth has a cloth by the name of MAXX cloth and Dimension - Polyant is now manufacturing a cloth by the name of Flex Cloth. The beauty of both of these material...

Jed, Engine vibration from diesel engines is just part of the charm but with a little engineering keeping this to a minimum can be done. All twin engines, gas included, produce a fair amount of shake, rattle and roll and with the compression levels of diesel engines being that much greater than that...

noise reduction
I do not have any experience with the Aqua-Drive so from the point of noise reduction from ones use I can only talk out of my hat. While powereing your boat with a Universal diesel 2 I would bet you would be better off investing your efforts in conventional methods of noise reduction before moving f...

lavic head
[quote="Tim"]The idea of the vented loop in any line like this is to stop a siphon action, should the device (such as the head) be at or below the waterline. If you simply close your seacocks (conveniently located right in the head itself, in our case) each time, you'll never need to worry...

light through the hull
I had the bottom of 466 sand blasted last summer - removing all of the paint and experienced the same - now while the boat is out of the water and waiting for my work to continue I always have a well lit bilge.
