All I can say is WOW!!! She is beautiful. I can't wait to see some under sail pictures of her.
Congratulations on a great find.

Cap'n Tom,
The hatch is a Bomar, low profile aluminum hatch. I got it off of eBay, and do not remember the exact model number. It is a 1000 series I believe.

Maybe Tim can check the label.

Hi Britton, It's a Horizon 500 that I got off of eBay. Since there is a lot of coral in the Caribbean I'll be running 100 ft. or chain and 200 feet of line for my anchor rhode. This means, in most anchorages, I'll be on all chain. I thought it would be handy to have an electric windless to speed up ...

Someone once told me a stern rail off of a Catalina 22 would work, but I can't guarantee this is true. I got my stern rail, as Tim did, from Tops In Quality ( http://www.topsinquality.com/weldrails.htm ). http://www.lackeysailing.com/kaholee/photos/april07/cockpitaft42007.jpg http://www.lackeysailin...

Interesting perspective. My experience with the marinas and boatyards in New Mexico, while not without a few bumps, has seemingly been much better than you guys seem to have had. I have never had them move my boat from her slip. And while in the boatyard I had an overall good experience, even consid...

Not to worry, there are lots of Tritons out there just looking for some TLC. While I agree this boat does not look as bad as the described by the surveyor, trying to make a determination without being aboard her is difficult. If you want a Triton, you should be able to find a really nice one with ou...

I have used a portable refrigerator on KAHOLEE. First a Igloo Survivor (AD/DC/Propane) which served me well for years. The only drawback to the Igloo was it pulls 7A in DC mode. It was a good unit, and I am still using it in my RV. I have switched to an Engel 45 on KAHOLEE just because it draws less...

I just read the review and it seems diametrically opposed to my experience with this product. I installed the small/medium unit on KAHOLEE years ago to hold my Garmin 120 GPS. The unit has never needed to be tightened even in fairly rough seas. I was so happy with the unit I purchased the large one ...

If you want to use the existing hole, run a line through the hole and out the bottom of the mast. Lay the line along the side of the end of the radar antenna cable then tape around it to make a cone shaped end to the antenna cable with the line exiting at its peak. Retract the line through the hole ...

I'm pretty sure it was the RAC-75500MAX2 which is the smaller of the two units offered by Hamilton Marine. It is a bit larger than we had hoped, so Tim will need to be creative in finding a place to mount it, but it will allow for changing fuel filters without inducing air into the system and as men...

Personally, I think the Cup has been going downhill ever since they stopped sailing the 12 Meters. I have to agree with Tim, the AC was always about your guys vs their guys. Now it's just another product. I don't really even bother to stay tuned in any more. Now if they started sailing Js again... :)

I'm really looking forward to April 08 when we set sail for the Caribbean. The only problem is she is looking so good I think I should just keep her safe and sound, but Tritons were made to sail so that's what we'll do. Baking aboard is wonderful. Cookies, bread... Mmmm. I'm not much into cooking ashore, but aboard it seems much more appealing. Even baking bread, with the numerous times you have to punch it down, let it rise, etc. doesn't seem bad when it's only two steps away from whatever else you're doing. And ...

Can you pass on any info about your setup? I got the stove on eBay. It has all the necessary functions, cook top, oven, broiler. The gimbal system and pot holders I got seperately. I myself have been toying with an oven that faces forward (mounted athwartships?) with the oven door opening forward o...
