I gave the aluminum power coat that bubbled up a light sanding after water washing it. Then on the July 4th weekend I gave it two more coats of the aluminum power epoxy mix. Update, no pictures. Water washed/scrub the epoxy, then sanded it lightly, vacuumed it, acetone wiped it, then three coats of epoxy with aluminum powder. It all went well I thought. Back on the starboard side I used epoxy filler on some spots this past week. IMG_1737.JPG I water washed/scrubbed the spots then sanded them. Slowly sanding gelcoat off. I have gotten the starboard side mostly done. Have not gotten under the stands yet. Figure I will move the stands after I finish redoing the rest of the area. I got a layer of biaxial cloth on the underside of the port winch base. Picture was before the epoxy was added.

Last week I finished off filling the two thru-hull holes. Now I was able to start on the engine beds.

You can post photos to this forum from your computer with out using another web hosting photo site. Copy the photos you want to post to a file, then resize them to under 256 KB in size. All the face plywood is 1/2" birch from Home Depot. I got the face plywood for the v-berth shelves and the settees (port and starboard) cut out, fitted, sanded and the first coat of varnish on them. The faces will be varnished and the backsides will be primed and painted white. No pictures the ...

For the heavy sanding/grinding I had an old Sears 7" grinder using coarse sanding discs (it just had it's back end bearning go out and ate up the brushes also). For the finer sanding I have a small Porter Cable 5" sander. I go through a lot of discs with it, but it gets the job done.
