Re: Bilge Floor Crack

Thank you for the explanation and suggestion. I’ll take a closer look this weekend. Will probably do something before next winter. Or bring the boat south.. :D

Re: Bilge Floor Crack

Thank you for the response. I’m pretty sure it formed this winter and it’s rather high in the glassed over surface above the ballast about 2.5-3 feet forward of the first companionway step (Not the deepest part of the keel). It is adjacent to the outer hull (hence my panic), but upon closer inspecti...

Bilge Floor Crack

I have a ‘66 Pearson Triton and after taking off its winter cover and looking under the sole boards I noticed a pretty good sized crack on the floor of the bilge above the keel. In a panic, I ran down the ladder and breathed a sigh of relief that there were no cracks apparently to the outer hull. I ...

Re: PEARSON TRITON 28 hull 230

Hi Ron, I like the hand rails on the v berth coach roof...I think I’ll add those to mine. I saw your YouTube vids (thx for posting) and I really like the door you put on the bulkhead going into the head/hanging locker and the louvered door going into the v-berth. Where did you get your lavac toilet?...

Re: Wooden Rudder

Many thanks for the response and sharing your thoughts! The previous owner mentioned the same thing about the boards swelling and closing the gaps which obviously makes sense. I followed atomvoyager's advice with regards to evaluating the soundness of the pintles, gudgeons, etc. and I'm satisfied to...

Re: New owner with questions 1959 #16

Hi Sailormanbigd, how's #16 coming? Have you had a chance to visit and work on? Just curious because you seem as excited as I was when I recently purchased #663.

Re: Pearson Triton Hull #663 - My new boat pics

Hi James, that metal guard on my particular boat is actually mentioned in the Improvement Bulletin section of the Albergsailboats.org National Triton Association from about 1980 or earlier. Just happened to stumble on it , thought was kind of cool, and glad you noticed it. I just wonder how long bef...

Re: Pearson Triton Hull #663 - My new boat pics

2nd selfie I ever took in my life...was smiling on the inside :D By the way, you might like this. I was in Florida a month ago and saw what I believe is a Wanderer 30 temporarily aground by my place. Can you confirm?

Re: Wooden Rudder

Many thanks for sharing your experience and ways to check the the integrity of the pins, etc. I will ask around about overlaying with epoxy/glass...sounds like a good idea to me and could be done without too much trouble. Perhaps it could add some years to it. Thanks again!

Wooden Rudder

I recently purchased a '66 Pearson Triton (Hull #663). Upon haul out, I got a much better look at her rudder (I believe it to be original). It looks like it is in good condition. The vessel was stored indoors for 18 years. Can anyone please share any knowledge and experience about when a rudder may ...

Just wanted to share with those who love Albergs and similar vessels. Will likely have questions for the forum...thanks in advance!
