Re: 1 year Awlgrip bubbling at waterline
I do remember you suggested applying 2000e above the waterline before applying 545 finish primer, when the boat was hauled out. I was told by my painter that it wasn’t needed. So it sounds like stripping the affected areas and adding a boot strip is going to be my best option. Maybe a few day projec...

Okay I’ll try giving it a quick sand.
I ended up installing a drain plug anyway. I’m not able to go fast enough for water to drain.
The drain plug is still good when pulling it up on the beach and using a small bucket to rinse it out though.

1 year Awlgrip bubbling at waterline
I had my hull resprayed a little over a year ago. A couple bubbles started forming at the waterline after about 8 months. Since I left for cruising 2 weeks ago, paint 2-3” above the waterline has started bubbling up bad. I’m thinking it’s due to the extra weight (food, tools, and having a second per...

So far I’ve used the Atom 6.5 throughout the entire British Virgin Islands. Since it is so light and has a flat bottom, it towed very easily, even in short choppy seas. With the rub rail installed, I next install the oarlock hardware.
Since I was trying to make a weather window to the next island, I only added Kiwi Grip nonskid to the floor area and installed 1 deck plate in the center compartment. I used a Wichard bow eye fitting to attach my painter to.

Thanks for the reply,
When you suggest the tefGel, are you recommending applying it to the shackle pin threads or the main swivel head that holds everything together? I haven’t had too many problems with stainless shackles, mostly just steel shackles after a few months of use.

Provisioning In the Virgin Islands - Sourcing Bulk Dried Foods
I’m preparing for a voyage south of the Virgin Islands sometime early next year. Thanks Atom,
I did order some off Amazon a while back and it melted in the mail. It was a great big mess but I put it in the refrigerator and was able to use certain pieces. It’s been so long ago I’m not sure what brand it was.
I’ll grab a roll or two from Hamilton while they’re in stock.

How big is the electric motor you’re installing?
I’m sure a boat that size requires some serious thrust to get her going.
