Cabin dropleaf table
I've redesigned the interior of my Aquarius 21 to accomodate my family of 4. The next step is to install a dropleaf table over the centerboard trunk. The original design had a built-in galley on the port side of the cb trunk and a dropleaf table on the starboard side that was 4' long. It was support...

Re: Name that sail
No name, number, manufacturer, ... on the sail. All the other sales that came with the boat were stuffed in the same sailbag, so maybe this one was stuffed in there by accident. The guy who gave me the boat had 3 others and had to get rid of this one. I'll try to find him and see if it's one of his ...

That makes me feel better. I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I was hoping it was a genoa or a spinnaker, but it didn't make any sense.

Re: Name that sail
Dave - I went back and reposted the pics, so I hope you can see them. Please let me know if you can't.
There are grommets on all sides except the longest 33'8" side, which has grommets at the corners and one at each reef.

Name that sail
Hi all - My project A21 came with 5 sails: a main, jib, 2 small jibs, and a fifth sail that has me stumped. It's not triangular - with 4 sides. The longest is 33'8", what I think is the foot (based on two sets of reef lines) is 22', the other side has two legs, the upper is 19' and the lower is...

Re: Location of bow cleat and chocks
Thanks for the info Dave. I can drill through the toe rails, so I will install the chocks there. I read somewhere that the line entering the cleat should be as close as possible to 15 degrees. That's why I was thinking of moving the cleat aft. Do the chocks take enough of the strain, so keeping the ...

Here's a picture of the former location of the bow cleat and chocks http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/4391ca5994.jpg I'd like to move the chocks forward and on top of the toerails. Shou...

Re: Lazarette Cover
tpl, Excellent idea. The old cover bowed up at each of the long ends, so some stiffening ribs should prolong its life. I completed the first few layers of glass and the plywood board, but then got greedy and tried to add another layer of glass too soon. I think it got too hot, because it hardened al...

Lazarette Cover
I'm replacing the lazarette cover on my A21. The old one is severely bowed and has several significant cracks. It also doesn't blend in very well after I painted the cockpit and deck! This will be my first fiberglass construction, although I've replaced a gelcoat floor in a small motorboat and done ...

Thanks for the reference to the sealtant chart. I'm not sure how much adhesion I want for the deadlights to not leak, but be removable if (when) they do in the future. I'm thinking of using either LifeCalk, 3M 4000UV or Sika 291LOT between the frames and the cabin. It looks like Sika 521UV, Sika 291...

I've begun fairing the deck with West System epoxy and a blend of their 407 & 406 fillers. I've got 2 questions about the process. First, do I need to scrub and rinse the applied fairing once it dries to remove amine blush before I sand it? Second, how long do I have to wait before sanding and a...

Rewiring mast for lights
I'm about to rewire the 22' mast on my trailer sailer (A21). I'm going to install an anchor light on the masthead and one of the combination mastead/deck lights, for a total of 5 wires. There's also a VHF antenna wire. I don't have a mooring, so I'll be raising and lowering the mast quite often. My ...
