How much play is acceptable in the prop shaft inside the cutless bearing .Ours moves about 1/16-1/8

thanks guys I thought that was the case, but read somewhere that someone did something at the isolation switch to go back to 12 v ???? This set the confusion in motion. So my best bet ,if I understand this now, is to wire 2 ,6 V ,225 AH in series ,this will give me 225 amps but 12 volts. and I have ...

I read somewhere that useing drano is a decent etcher , followed by vinegar to nuetrilize, was an easy and cheap way to prep the aluminum prior to panting.any comments ?

I can't for the life of me find a tractor H2O pump. I think I have found another solution .... rebuild the existing. I'll be sending out to a rebuild shop soon... will let everyone know the results

whats the best material to replace our port lights with ?lexan ,acrylic,plexi etc. The non skid factory stick in stuff on deck has old repairs made to it.leaving patches filled holes etc. what can we do to .... relace this stuff,repair it ,or go over it with something that looks good and is non skid...

I have a w21 in my B32. needs a fresh water pump.its a kubota block. went to tractor store today to check on parts the pump for a d850 has 4 bolt holes I have 6. the W 27 also has 6 holes and is almost the same engine. does anyone know what block a 27 is or where I can get that info

we have just purchased a bristol 32 with a WB 21, 1983 vintage motor I can't get it running,but that's beside the point, I met someone today that told me that most westerbeke engines are actually engines manufactured by others ,then WB ads a few parts and a nameplate and paint and its a WB ! If so ....
