Black iron pipe it will be - thanks

As the pipe between the manifold and muffler of my A-4 has totally disintegrated I am not sure what is the best replacement material. Exhaust hose (supposedly heat resistant) has been recommended by some, but other readings are leaning toward copper or black pipe. Can anyone add some recommendations...
