Re: Power inverter install

Thank you Maine for your excellent help. I'll be keeping the Power inverter (got too good of a deal on it) but will be heading over to Best Buy to locate a DC charger for the laptop and a good quality 12V (cig lighter) power adapter. In spite of it's age my boat does have a good "fused" ci...

Re: Power inverter install

I should have also mentioned that I do not have shore power capability. My only other battery (a conventional marine starting battery) is dedicated to my outboard motor.

Thanks...

Re: Power inverter install

This is not intended to be a permanant installation, pretty much "On" only when needed then disconnected when not in use. The unit (a Cobra model CPI) features automatic shutdown on Current overload, Voltage overload, Voltage shortage and Temperature overload. I specifically asked about co...

Power inverter install

I DID do a quick forum search on this question before posting so.....I have this shiny new 800w/1600W inverter that I'd like to install for the occasional recharging cell phones and running a laptop, fan, etc. etc. Not for continuous use. My question is: Is it okay to wire it directly to my deep cyc...

Re: Bristol 27 rudder tube design

Thank you very much for the pictures Lloyd. I did go for a swim last weekend, (6" visibility, 55 Degree water temp, BRRRRRR). I was able to give the rudder a good shaking and determined that the "Play" I am feeling in the tiller is actually coming from the point where the rudder post ...

Re: Bristol 27 rudder tube design

Thanks Dave. The Bristol and Pearson yachts do have a common thread in thier pedigree however I think the Renegade was fitted with a Stab style rudder while the B27 is keel hung. I do agree with your suggestion however. It's a nice warm sunny day here on the eastern shore. I'll be taking a dip later...

Re: Bristol 27 rudder tube design

Thanks for the welcome Rachel. I'm really hoping that its something simple so I can fix it myself. I'd really like to know what's on the inside of that rudder tube. Thanks again.

Bristol 27 rudder tube design

Greetings all, what a great site! I aquired a 1967 Bristol 27 last november which aside from being neglected for quite some time is in pretty good condition. I have sailed her afew times since and noticed a fair amount of "play" in the tiller head to rudder shaft connection. Last weekend I...
