Re: Interdeck or Kiwigrip Non-skid?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll go with the Kiwigrip. I think I'll test it out first on a lazerette cover and see how it covers the molded in non-skid. The pattern is a fairly random looking cross-weave and is not very deep, so it might cover it completely. If not, I don't think it will take mo...

Re: Ericson 27 Project

You should bevel the hole. 1:12 is the recommended ratio, but with a hull thickness of 3" that would be a HUGE area to fill. I'd at least go with 1:2. You can either do the bevel from the inside or the outside. If possible, I would do it from the inside that way you have much less of the hull t...

Interdeck or Kiwigrip Non-skid?

I need some help deciding on which non-skid to use. I just finished replacing the rotten endgrain balsa core in about 50% of my deck. I'll be painting it and applying non-skid later this month - before it gets too cold. I'm trying to decide between Interdeck and Kiwigrip. These are my considerations...

Re: Another outstanding bad boat name

Airbrushed art always adds that extra touch of class to anything - boats, cars, t-shirts, license plate holders.

Mixing Interlux Perfection Paint

My boat was previously painted white with Interlux perfection 2-part LPU paint. I did a poor job, though, due to bugs and humidity. I want to repaint it a different color, too. The color I want is a light blue. The lightest blue in Perfection is lauderdale blue which is still a little too dark. Is t...

Re: Ericson 27 Project

I'm going to remove the inboard on my boat as well. I'm planning on grinding the strut down just below the surface then glassing over it. That should encase it. I don't want to leave it hanging out there mainly to reduce drag. My boat is 33 years old. I'm likely the final owner, and if not, any othe...

Re: Installing battery charger

The only below-the-waterline through hull I have is the knotmeter - the only etal part on that is a titanium pin. The only other piece of metal I have in the water is the keel (lead). With this in mind, do you think I can forego the galvanic isolator for now? Again, I'm in fresh water.

Installing battery charger

I have a Xantrex truecharge 10TB that I want to install to run off shorepower. I have very modest electrical needs: engineless, nav lights, instruments, instrument lights, VHF, cabin lights, cabin fan. I have no plans, at least now, for any AC power except the charger. I know I have to wire the shor...
