I'm going back out for more torture today so I'll get a few pictures. It's the epoxy coating right under the gelcoat. It's a dark gray color. I have been lucky enough not to go down to the fiberglass at this point so I'm hoping my errors can be fixed easily.

Yesteice rday I went to Lowes's and found a nice 2 3/8" Kobalt scraper with a carbide tip. What I found out though, which is par for the course, Lowes's doesn't carry replacement blades for the tool...Why sell it then!!!

After taking tons of leaves out of the cockpit, I found 2 impressions in the forward cockpit. Upon closer examination it looks like the missing cockpit drains stuffed full with dirt and leaves! Looks like the hoses will need to be dumped out, there full of I don't know what.

Hey Brian,

Depending on if they leave me under cover or not, I was thinking of hanging a tarp and working on the inside of it with a respirator. I don't think the marina will send a welcome committee if I let loose a dust storm in the enclosure!

I've started looking at them, I balked at the first few when they were only 1.5"-2" long, I thought no way this will take me forever. I quickly found out that the longest one so far is 2 3/8". But as far as the job it does, it's not a b ad price for between $12-15

Keeping with the fractional rig, if I have a furler, do I still have room for an inner forestay. I am new to sailing, the reason I pose the question is because I don't now if furling the headsail in a heavy wind would be better then putting up a storm sail and fully furling the headsail. I'm going to be inspecting all four of the shroud chainplates, if they are in good shape with no doubt, I'll keep them and just replace the bolts. That way money will be saved and I'll know that the bolts are safe.

I agree with all of you, it came down to a calculation error and I spent a lot of time yesterday looking up individual equipment usage and the correct formula and it came out to about 90AH. Okay excuse my ignorance, but if I remember correctly, didn't Tim install cockpit drains with the seacocks draining out the bottom of the hull? Wouldn't you solve the problem by intalling the seacocks on the side of the hull or stern?
