The green colour is because the chainplates are bronze they may be leaking a little but even if they are not they will still bleed through the paint from the salt air.

That boat dosn't look that bad at all. If I where you I'd clean it up reasembale it, do a bottom job and put it in the water. After a summer of sailing you will have a much better idea of what needs to be done.

Congradulatios, Tritons are sweet boats. Since I bought mine the most important thing I've leaned is not what I need but what I don't need. Keep it simple and make sure to check those hoses, especially the one for the sink drain it's very hard to get to and often go's unchecked. I've spent most of m...

One trick I've heard of is to scrape out the chanel clean and then fill it with 5200. I've never tried this my self, but its worth a try.

The yard I have my boat in caters to boats under 35 feet. I have no complaints, as long as you pay the rent They leave you alone and don't try to sell you all kinds of services. Real nice staff to, will do any thing to help you out when you need it.

How about a polished aluminum mast with a clearcoat to protect it.

Now that would look good!

Welcome to the form. I'd say get a small electric fuel pump and some hose and suck it out through the filler tube into 5 gallon cans. It is much better to do it this way than through the sending unit plate and filling the boat up with fumes.

I used oil based white rustolium. It sticks to any thing and has great coverage, and dries rock hard. I get it at Lowes for $29.95 a gallon.

water tank to holding tank

Has anyone tried converting the original triton water tank under the v-berth to a holding tank for the head. Mine is full of green slime and I don't think it would be a good idea to drink out of it.

The A-4 weighs about 350 pounds with the trany. I just riped mine out, it made a nice thud on the ground when I pushed it off the deck. I don't know what the prop shaft weighs I'd guess about 20 pounds. The water tank is about 22 gallons.

It came with a genoa and main in great shape. I found a good runing A4 for $1000, but I like the idea of a simple outboard setup and the aded storage space where the motor used to be.

New Triton owner

Hi. new to the forum I just bought triton #227 Lively Lady on ebay. The boat is in good shape but the atomic 4 is shot. I was thinking about an outboard and was wondering how well they work on this boat. This is a great forum with a ton of imformation.
