Very nice!
I really need to do this. My lines are of unknown vintage.
Can you get in color other than lightblue?
Who did you use for supplies?
Thanks!

Re: To flatten or not to flatten
Mine was glossy when I bought it....several years later it is not glossy.
So either way it will end up flat with enough time and UV exposure.
Leave it. It won't be an issue and it will be way easier to keep clean.
by the way I love the way your boat looks. All your hard work has been worth it!!!

strip, you can use oven cleaner or lye to take off the anodizing Sand to the level of finish you want and then re-anodize. I polished a couple of motorcycle frames that NEVER got wet and they always turned gray and ugly just from exposure to air. A quick polish brought them back up fairly quickly. C...

I got the local sail maker repairing the main for $60.00.
The center board is bolted into the trunk and has a pennant to rais and lower it. The thwart should have a pair of cleats on it to hold it up or down.

I got a call from a neighbor asking if I knew anyone who wanted a sailboat before he called the junk guy. I decided I'd drag it home and see what we could make of it. Very nice! Cool little motor.
For any old copper gaskets or washers a neat trick is to anneal them by heating with a torch and allowing them to cool. The copper hardens and by heating and slow cooling it softens it.
Handy when you don't have a new washer and the old one is not sealing.

Very good point about the anti syphon loop. Many heads also go under the waterline at certain angles of heel. BUT you get to trust that the little duckbill valve always stays clear, never gets crusty stuff in it and doesn't start a syphon. If I have the option to keep the bowl above the waterline I ...

Thanks!
