Mast from one boat to another. Caliber to Dufour
Hello, I Sold my Sabre 28 and bought a Dufour 31.The Dufour does not have a mast. I am purchasing the mast boom and rigging from a Caliber 28 to use on the Dufour 31. The new mast is 1 to 2 feet taller. The Caliber has about 1/2 a foot wider beam than the Dufour. What sort of mods will I have to mak...

Can anyone identify this boat?
She is said to be a 17ft 1981. The hull is fiberglass, but much of the finish work was being done by a gentleman who passed away. It has a wood mast? Hmmm, any thoughts?

Whisker pole repair
The twist lock mechanism in my forspar whisker pole has split into two parts. One of these pieces is stuck in the pole about 18 in down. Does anyone hve any idea how I might go about removing it?

So, this morning I was wandering through my basement. When I stumbled upon an alternator I had pulled out of a salvage Volvo 240. Now,the alternator on my Sabre 28's Volvo MD7a is bad and I got to wondering if I could use this old Volvo 240 Alt. as a substitute. I don't know if the attatchments woul...

New to me Dyer Dhow
I picked up a 9ft Dyer Dhow this past weekend. It needs a little work, but was at a good price. The boat came with the the sailing rig and some too short oars. I have epoxied a crack in the middle seat and filled the enlarged bolt holes on the seat. I hope to do some work on the rails this weekend. ...

I believe someone took an Alden Challenger like Tom's across the Atlantic not too long ago. I think the boat was named Fleana. I recall they did some refitting but I do not recall what they did.

I have posted two short videos of our trip from Rock Hall Md. to Seaford Va. I had purchased the Sabre, now named "Espadon" around this time last winter and used spring break (I am a teacher) and the time after school let out to do some repairs. My daughter, a friend of mine and his son ma...

Alden Challenger "false" bulkhead

I started the engine of the Sabre 28 the other day. It ran great (I plan to sail the boat to VA. next weekend). I have begun removing the covering of the cabin top on Kittiwake after feeling some soft spots where the edges turn. Most of the top is 1 inch plywood (thicker near the mast). My coamings on the Triton look like crud.
