I've no experience with Purpleheart but if you want a reasonable replacement for teak, you could try Iroko. It's a pretty common replacement and was considerable cheaper when I bought some last winter.

My Seaward is all stainless exterior, enamalled inside. Absolutely no signs of corrosion. I think Force 10 may be better but the Seaward seems to be good enough! Either beats cooking on a Coleman in the cockpit and I've done that too!

We've had a Seaward Stove for 11 years and it has been flawless. We cook a lot and bake regularly. It's a 2 burner and that seems sufficient. We liked the Force 10 but didn't want to pay the extra $$$ at that time. Either would be fine, I believe the Force 10 is the premium brand.

Count me in too! I replaced our sails last year and got a loose footed main. I really like the ease of adjustment and the simplicity. Mine is essentially held at the clew with a velcro strap so getting it on and off is much faster now. Go for it!

I seems to me the hardest part of a lot of boat projects is trying to decide the best way to proceed. There are many choices and, often, they all seem to get the job done. I don't have any direct experience but I have heard good reviews on this brand- http://www.itrheat.com/Hurricane.html It'll heat your cabin and your water.

I did my cabinet doors last year and, lacking funds for painters pyramids, I went to the local Dollar Store and splurged on a sleeve of plastic shot glasses for a buck. All the rocks were under snow at the time... :) BTW, Lee Valley has them as well for any interested Canucks.

It wouldn't matter if it was perfect or not; it wouldn't stay perfect for long. Dinghies, fenders, docks etc all will quickly leave their mark (pun intended!) I repainted in July and had a small ding by August. Why worry? It's a boat not a Steinway. It looks great, enjoy the moment.

I have used SeaLand Industries in Chester Basin to haul my 35'er back to Nova Scotia. I was happy with the service they provided. They handled all the border issues as well. It wasn't cheap but I'd use them again.

I replaced my Teleflex SL3 this year after no little amount of frustration. As they corrode they have a nasty habit of freezing in neutral which causes some serious anxiety.
