We won't be sailing today but it will be in my mind as I look out over Penobscot Bay today from on top of the Camden Snowbowl, our little in town ski area. I'm always amazed how big the bay is from here. A triangle with 3, 30 mile legs. It's no wonder after more than 10 sailing seasons, I don't feel I've seen any where near all of it.
This looking out over the bay toward Mt Dessert, Cadillac Mountain in the far background about 40 miles. Yup, you can sail right across.
This is my wife a few years ago before she too went to the dark side. We shred the gnar these days on snowboards. It's almost as much fun as sailing.
Happy new year to all.
Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year, too!
I don't recall whether I shared this in the past. (Note the Creche; unfortunately, that's tea in the flutes.)
I won't opine whether we both have slipped over to the dark side.

Re: Happy New Year!!!
Penobscot Bay is great to sail... last time I did (this past May) it was a bit nippely though...
Castine was pleasant and I hung around for a few days to get used to my new (to me) boat...
You may recognize this lighthouse...
Happy New Year, and a great 2011 sailing season to all.
