Black Brass

Heres a question. I went to winterize my A4 in my renegade yesterday, which has been sitting in my yard for a month and noticed all the brass fittings in the engine compartment had turned black, which does not rub off. Has anyone else experienced this?

Ammonia will turn brass black at low temperature over time. Leak in holding tank or done any cleaning?

Thats it,

I had a leak in my holding tank line which left my bilge a little ripe. I cleaned my bilge then added a splash of pool bleach to finish the cleaning. It must have been the pool chemical. Thank's for the reply. I was not thinking in that direction.
