bamboo shroud covers
Does anyone have any pictures of these. In doing a search here, I get 207 hits and the first 10 were a no go.
And secondly, if anyone knows of people that make them...I would love an introduction.

When you were searching, did you change the little "radio button" to the one that's something like "include all words"? For me, the default is always on "include any words" which means the search will give you ninety-billion hits if you have any "common" words in it.
Edited to say that I don't actually remember any threads on this before; I was just commenting on the search function in general, as I had a similar issue before I noticed the (default) "radio button" setting.

Here is Mahogany and Teak. They also do custom material.

Hi Rachel - Yes I will take lots of photo's....I've owned her for 7 months - Just basically "sailed" her this season, with plans to do a "proper Herreshoff" interior this winter, and the topside decks in the spring. I was originally looking for an "original" wood Herreshoff in a similar size, when the Admiral of the Household reminded me of other obligations and frozen snot was cheaper to maintain - so plastic classic was the choice lest I be demoted :-). She was in very good shape - not a single soft spot when surveyed (the boat not the Admiral). She was the Goodwin's own family boat for many years, and has most every option available - including the self tacking jib - which makes single handling nearly 500 feet of sail a breeze.
Here is a poor quality shot of those bamboo rollers....

Here is an old Interior shot. The sole is being replaced, and the Hillerange propane stove/oven to port is being replaced with a shipmate version in alcohol (BTW if anyone wants the Hill - which seems to be in OK shape - I'll give it away).

Adam,
Thanks for introducing me to the Blue Chip 30, really beautiful. Do you have more pictures of her you can post? Any with her sails up? I've searched the web and your pictures here are the only ones available. Maybe you can do a spread in Boat Pictures.

Bill - ya know I don't really have any of her sailing - I'm always on her and not watching from afar! Next season I'll have some shots taken and post them. Information on these is a bit sketchy as only approx 20 hulls were ever built - I've located 4 to date - one in Kansas City (hull #1), one in the great lakes - the others here in NE. There are probably several others in the Cape Cod / Buzzard Bay area as they are very well designed for that area - and built there. My Flickr site has a number of shots, but certainly not what I'd do a "spread" from - that will have to wait until the spring!
Zach - Sidney Herreshoff designed her from his fathers H 12 1/2 design in 1961, but the first hull wasn't built until 1967. They are handsome - with that typical early 1900's Herreshoff shear, and bow - they stand out a bit from later CCA influenced designs.

Re: bamboo shroud covers
Sorry to bring back an old post but several folks wanted to see progress...exterior hull and topsides done...Interior is primed, but I have not yet done the finish coat - or put back all the "stuff".
