Hello,
Has anyone out there ever rebuilt and extended their transom?
I have recently acquired (free) a 1970's Chrysler Buccaneer 18.
Sometime during it's life the transom had become damaged and its previous owner hacked off 2' of the original transom, eliminating the aft storage area and giving it just a flat transom. I would like to take it back to its original state but am not sure how to proceed (fasten the new transom to keep it structurally sound).
Any help would be appreciated.

Jerry,
This is obviously more involved than you probably need, but check out the site below for a description of one man's transom extension and modification.

Thanks Tim,
From the website I gathered that the material he was using is Corecell.
Do you know anything about it or its availability.
I am from Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia.
