Craigslist Treasure

Post by John, CD28 »

Surfing Craigslist, I spot a tired looking old dinghy with a perfect wineglass transom. A few dollars later, she's strapped securely on top of the jeep, and we're on our way home. This is as simple and rewarding as a project gets. Let's see what we have for leftover parts & paint in the cabinets...

Image
Some firehose bumper should do.

Image
Tape off the bumper, brush on some Cetol, and primer on the seats.

Image
More primer!

Image
Matterhorn White Toplac above the seats, Cream Interdeck below. Some proper bronze oarlocks go well here.

Image
Love the wineglass! (Leftover paint goes on the old dinghy)

Image
Finished! Now she's a proper 8-1/2' yacht tender.

Cheers,
John

Very nice! Do you have any idea who the builder of the dinghy was?

Thanks All!

I couldn't find a makers mark anywhere. I checked the upper right side of the transom, but there's nothing there. No builder's plate either.

I finally got some nice finished shots of "Less". The little boat rows like a dream!
